❓ Are we an NGO (non-government org)? Nope. ❓ So are we part of the government? Wrong again. ❓ Do we have our own special status? Yes! 👉 Like the rest of our fellow Red Cross societies around the world, our role is officially recognised as: a humanitarian auxiliary to public authorities in the humanitarian field. ❓ But... what does that mean? 👉 It’s our job to give extra support when public authorities need it, in order to help people. We’re a totally independent organisation, and governments of all countries must respect that. They can’t ask us to do anything that goes against our humanitarian mission and our fundamental principles.
