Wow. Last sunday, September 18th ‘22 is something we will always remember & will forever resonate in the souls of those who were able to experience it. Whether this final beach bounce of the year was your first one, or if you grew with us from the beginning of the year, or tagged along somewhere in the middle...a common theme between all of the stories that have been shared with us throughout this year was that “I have never seen that many black people on the beach in my life”...and that proves the strength of our collective power when we unite to love, to learn, to teach, to heal, and to find that sense of belonging within eachother and within nature. The ocean heals us all. To be & feel celebrated by OUR people in that way felt ethereal. To watch nearly 100 black & brown people experience the joy of riding the waves of Southern California felt historical. To Swag Surf shirtless with our toes in the sand and a smile plastered across our faces felt tribal. Thank you for an amazing year of growth, fun & community, Ebony Beach Club. Thank you for rewriting the narrative with us as we invent & actualize the new vision of the multi cultural and harmonious future of surf & the black beach experience.
