For the last six months, I’ve documented myself in many different stages of this process—and I’ve meant to post them as the phases passed but later is better than never. Printing and posting up my favorite photo of the dish is one of the most satisfying experiences at the end of recipe testing. When the many weeks and long hours of ideating, writing, culling, shopping, testing, chasing sunlight, shooting, and editing are finally done. I print them out to see whether or not if what I set out to achieve was aesthetically successful. If I hit the mark on all the angles I need for the long design road ahead. It’s also a projection. A manifestation. I walk by this little tapestry for weeks and envision where I want to go beyond it. While also being so grateful for everything that made it possible. Nothing else punctuates this phase like a hard copy.
