DCI 2022 So..... I needed to take a few days to organize my thoughts on the 2022 Blue Devils season. THIS STAFF.....WHAT THESE GUYS DID WAS AMAZING ! ! ! It started in 2021, when we realized, like 2020, there would be no season. I knew that with the two seasons off... For 2022, we would have ZERO battery Vets, and only 4 pit Vets, Marimba, Drum Set, Guitar & Synth. I remember talking to the drum staff and telling them, “We have never had this challenge before.” In my 43 years with BD & 4 with SCV, we always had Vets coming back to help lead and guide the new members. This was new for all of us. What this staff did.... was unbelievable ! ! ! They were working magic with this group of new members up until the last minute. I have been very lucky and honored to be a part of 20 DCI Rings, and 14 DCI High Perc. Awards, we almost got another one... I think this might be my favorite season. From where we started to where we ended.... Unreal. To my staff: THANK YOU for your talent, dedication & just being family. A big shout out to the 2022 Bluecoats Percussion section on their DCI High Perc. award. Those last 3 nights were fun for everyone... To the 2022 BD members: Congratulations on one of the most improved seasons I’ve ever witnessed, Thank you for believing in your staff, and trusting the process, and showing up for auditions... :-) And...... “Remember who you are” # 20
