Today in National Child Day, we’re not celebrating, we are sounding the alarm.
Because children across Canada are being targeted, groomed, bullied, extorted, and exploited online, often with devastating and irreversible consequences. Families are doing everything they can, but without strong laws, they are fighting an impossible battle.
In 2021, the government pledged to introduce the legislation in their first 100 days. But we’re still waiting.
As each day passes, kids suffer immeasurable harm, and their lives are on the line.
We will not start another year sacrificing one more child to online harms.
So today, we are launching Countdown for Kids: a powerful, 40-day national campaign demanding that the Government of Canada reintroduce the Online Safety Act before December 31, 2025.
Here’s what I need from you:
👉 Visit countdownforkids.ca and sign the Call to Action.
👉 Tag the Prime Minister, along with your MP and Senator.
Tell them to “Protect our children and Pass the Online Safety Act before December 31.”
Today the countdown clock starts ticking — and we’ll be counting down every hour until this gets done.
We need you to get loud and join us in demanding action.
Because our children can’t wait.
Their safety can’t wait.
And the time for action is now.
