My Brothers Keeper - by Vagabond Jazz This piece was inspired by a poem I wrote to pay homage to the divine masculine. To recreate a few characters along my path that have shown me men can also hold space w/ love. They can be open, vulnerable, & challenge you to grow in. I often paint women & realized it was time to confront a distant relationship I harvested between the male gaze. May men be peace keepers, accountability partners, & work in unison towards a more balanced yin & yang. -I wanted to show emotion, tribe, & the beautiful unique qualities black men have. & desired for this peace to hang in places where men discuss, reflect, & give self love like in barber shops, meditation studios, & wine chalets.
