Abyssal Seeker, 2021 part of METALOOP REMIX showing at IFS Changsha Under the guidance of Changsha Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, and planned by KUÀ STUDIO, Changsha IFS, METALOOP REMIX has launched the first large-scale public art project in Changsha. In collaboration with four local museums and cultural institutes, four renowned enterprises and technology companies, the project invites two groups of well-known curators and eleven international artists/arts groups to reflect the complex landscape of contemporary Chinese society through an artistic perspective: the interplay between daily life dominated by accelerating technology and the ever-adjusting cultural traditions. 2022 METALOOP ART PROJECT "REMIX" exhibits three art projects in Changsha IFS respectively: a large-scale video installation Image Palace by Chinese new media art pioneer Hu Jieming in the atrium of LG2, curated by the artistic director of the project Dong Bingfeng; a multimedia art project DOKU: Hello World in the art gallery in L7 by artist Lu Yang; Relentless Dreams, an exhibition of video art newly created by nine internationally renowned artists/groups for the public screens inside and outside the building of Changsha IFS, curated by SHIMMER (Bi Xin & Gaz Williams). The three art projects of REMIX have presented the most active and cutting-edge representations of art today: interactive video art, techno art, and site-specific installation art, exploring the complexity and multiple values between contemporary art and technological innovation, real life and virtual world, human civilization and future development against the background of present technological revolution.
