Initially titled, "Our Moonlight," this visual gathering occurred during May and June this year. Regardless of where I find myself and how I feel, I always return to my love for Black folk. I am generated and protected in that love. Thank you to @azemezi for providing an altar of honesty that rattles my heart and reshapes it once again. Thank you to Kendra, Rei, Ellene, Kirea, Turay, Cat, Lex, Rene, Jaz, Joi, Tyler, Juju, Johnathan, and Trey for meeting me halfway and trusting me. Much gratitude to @lyonse, @tannercurtis, and @natalieshut for holding this story. Last but not least, thank you to @rayzhon for assisting me for 18 photo sessions thus far. You inspired this story, and your love and support keep me going. Online now and in print tomorrow @nytimes Please go read @azemezi‘s words: “I see unknown lovers in my dreams, they dance with their bodies close to mine and kiss me on airplanes cutting through a night sky. Maybe after the isolation ends, one of them will make themselves real enough to find me, and the idea of them will be the same as the flesh, which means they are like me, strong enough to live as a story and have it stay true. I would, I think, like to be touched then.”
