Last weeks #TheWeeklyChallenge by @64millionartists, resulted in some wonderful participations inspired by our @stitch_for_change project!🧵 This week we heard stories and shared messages through patchwork, here are a few shared with us! Thank you to everyone would contributed and to @64millionartists for involving us ❤❤ 👥 Stitch for Change is a community sewing and patchwork project that began in late 2019 by @therefugeebuddyproject to bring people together through storytelling and making. The project was inspired by the Chilean #arpillera movement - a pictorial applique technique. Arpilleras were usually made by women to depict daily life during times of social and political hardship, recording their oppression as an act of resistance. This project responded to the Covid public health crisis by creating an online space for people to come together and find a collective voice. The network links up over 50 migrant justice organisations, supporting them to recruit new people and build capacity, and provide resources that we can all use to build the movement and to win.
