4 days. 54 kilometers. 32ish miles. 11 hikers with 2 amazing guides. 1 very intense case of altitude sickness. 1 person (Mom) bucked off a horse. What an incredible journey this was! We climbed snowcapped mountain (elevation: 15,000ft), rode horses through rocky highlands, trekked through jungles and hiked along active railroad tracks! And at the end, we got to see one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Machu Picchu! Genuinely one of the most incredible trips of my life. I am changed in ways I am still processing, and I CANNOT believe I had the physical strength and perseverance to do this hike. What an amazing country.
