Foraging is the perfect way to connect with nature, gathering wild ingredients also provides you with some of the best kick starters for vivacious ferments as their deeper perennial roots can access a richer source of bacteria to get your kimchis, krauts and kombuchas bubbling with gut-friendly goodness.
We have an exciting new series of workshops this season with River Cottage's go-to ferment expert @dethample.
First on September 14th we have 'A Day of Wild Food' where you'll get to learn the basics of foraging - you'll gather blossoms and nutritious wild greens to make some delicious recipes, with a lunch cooked by our chefs afterwards.
Then on September 21st we have 'A Day of Fermentation' where you'll get to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of fermentation. During this workshop, you'll cover all the basics, make an array of wonderful things to take home and leave with an understanding of fermentation science and the incredible health benefits. Guests will also get to enjoy lunch from the Petersham Nurseries kitchen.
On October 5th Rachel will be here to host a 'Preserving Techniques' workshop. You'll learn how to capture the best of each season as Rachel takes you through a realm of preserving techniques inspired by the Petersham Nurseries private kitchen garden. Guests will also get to enjoy lunch from the Petersham Nurseries kitchen.
