Usually princesses are exchanged for peace but these weren’t two kingdoms that were against each other. The Tubo King actually wanted an exchange of culture since he admired the Tang Emperors and their kingdom and the Tang Emperor decided that an exchange of marriage will bring their culture over. Which it did and in the eyes of Ancient China it was perfectly normal. I don’t know how i feel that the princess married far away or if she was willing to do so but i just hope that she was happy about it all.
