I always in awe at the generosity of our community. @shizutattoo reached out to me a few months ago and asked if would collaborate on a few works for her upcoming show Respira. We began to meet every Friday in her yard to make paper and palm flowers- we talked about our families, our mixed latinx backgrounds, how we and our communities have been getting through this pandemic and shared how we make with one another. This level of trust and sisterhood Shizu offered me as an artists growing my legs in the art world has been so beautiful and so generative for my practice. ✨Deeply grateful ✨ Come check out the work through May 28th! @charliejamesgallery
