Art historian Jack Burnham described Larry Bell’s works as “constructions which nearly dissolve into invisibility in the feat of optical titillation.” Long associated with Light and Space artists, his glass cubes began small, exhibited on pedestals, and gradually expanded with his interest in public art. Using a vacuum chamber, he deposits films of different metallic and non-metallic substances onto the glass himself.
