Last night I hosted a dinner with the dream team at @rixo to celebrate the work we have done on extending the brand’s sizing to now run up to a UK24 (with more to sizes to come), and I couldn’t be prouder. I have worked in fashion for almost 10 years, and while I have had the time of my life, I have also been acutely aware that the industry didn’t really want me there. There were no clothes for me to wear, no brands I could run to to grab something for a last minute event, and very few faces that looked like mine. So for @rixo a young, contemporary luxury brand to say we want to do better, we want to make as many people feel amazing in our clothes, how do we do that? For me, this wasn’t just a breath of fresh air; it was ground breaking. And then to see those clothes on a room full of women I love and admire last night had me near tears multiple times. Thank you Orlagh, Henrietta, Luisa, Leila, Georgia, Iona for such a special evening, I’m so excited for what’s to come ✨
