In celebration of my 42nd Bday tomorrow I wanted to share four announcements that I’m excited to my core about. Thank you for all of the absolutely amazing Love and support that you all have shown me over the years! It means the world to me and not something that I take lightly or for granted. 💜 1. After two years of further editing, revising, and adding to, the most recent iteration (v14) of my ongoing harmonic phrase and ear training study ‘The Phrase Codex’ is available FOR FREE on my website https://www.miguelatwoodferguson.com/free-downloads. It's meant to provide a fun way to awaken our own infinite originality. I don't actually memorize and use the phrases myself in composition and/or performance/recording. Currently, it contains 1,534 measures of phrases from 198 different people, spanning the last 300 years across multiple genres of music. 2. The MAF Ensemble will be performing for the first time in three years! On Aug 4, 2022, my 7 piece ensemble will be performing originals of mine as part of the summer series at UCLA’s The Hammer Museum (Los Angeles). 3. June 10th I will present my orchestral tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. at Lincoln Center (New York) which will also include The Originals DJ Crew. Biggie turns 50 this year and it is also the 25 yr anniversary of his 'Life After Death' album. 4. VOl. 1 of MY ALBUM 'LES JARDINS MYSTIQUES' IS ALMOST DONE BEING MASTERED AT ABBEY ROAD IN LONDON!!!!!!!! It is 52 tracks, 3.5 hrs in length, and features performances of 50 different people spanning the three disc Volume 1 (the entire album is broken up into 3 volumes, each volume roughly 3 to 3.5 hours in length). I started work on it 11 years ago and have continued working on it here and there over the years in between working for others. Vol 2 +3 are not too far away from also being done. The entire album is roughly 10hrs in total. The plan is to release one volume each year over the next 3 years.
