👨‍👦What it’s all about: Matthew and his son Austin are “a modest classic car lovin’ family.” At just 4 years old, Austin knows the make and model of everything on 4 wheels. In July, Matthew bought Austin his first classic car, a 1966 Ford Custom with Coker white wall tires that grabbed the original 15” hub caps like the stitching on a major league baseball and a baby-blue paint that looked like it drove straight from heaven. Recently, Matt became a Goodguys member and in August, brought his son and his new ’66 Ford Custom to the West Coast Nationals. “I looked into my son’s eyes and saw myself in the reflection of his big pupils. I saw myself as a young boy doing the same thing with my father when he bought his classic truck during a Goodguys car show at the Alameda County Fairgrounds,” Matthew said. “I remember the invigorating feeling, smell of the octane burning in the air on a cold start like barbequed steak on a 4th of July grill. This is what we do it for. That classic American experience of instilling culture into the future generation of classic car enthusiasts.
