Two things we avoid while traveling with kids? Sugar and screens. Trust me, it makes alllll the difference. Both sugar and screens give kids a dopamine rush, but once that wears off, they crash. This leads to meltdowns, whining, and extra challenges while traveling. Sugar spikes blood sugar, giving kids quick energy. But, when it crashes, they get tired, cranky, and impatient. Screens (I’m talking phone/tablet games and shows/movies) flood their brains with dopamine, making real life feel “boring” afterward, which often leads to post-screen tantrums. We focus on protein-packed snacks for steady energy and genuinely fun, screen-free activities to keep our daughters entertained. It takes a little planning on our part, but it’s so worth it to minimize stressful situations while traveling. The real key here is not waiting until the trip to cut back on these things. Easing off sugar and screens ahead of time makes transitions so much smoother. This is just one of my MANY go-to travel hacks. I share all my best tips in my new ebook! If you want stress-free, smooth travel with kids, comment “ebook” and I’ll send ya the link. Do you notice a difference when your kids have less sugar or screen time? Let me know below! 👇🏼✨
