@dittrichschlechtriem ・・・ __ For #BerlinerLuft , #AsgerCarlsen presented a set of manipulated nudes from 2015 featuring electroclash pop icon Casey Spooner @caseyspooner Committing to Casey Spooner #caseyspooner as his muse for the year spanning 2015 and 2016, @asgercarlsen produced a series of black and white nudes. Layers of Spooner’s flesh are meticulously photo-sculpted into headless Bellmerian beefcakes posed on precarious countertop pedestals. The artist originally premiered the series in 2015 in Miami, to coincide with the publication EGOS: Character Studies, Online Marketing and Prelude to New Music + APT #3, published by Damiani, in anticipation of Spooner’s album SIR. The series reveals a masculine ideal in a hyper-filtered, overexposed, social-media unreality, confronting and embracing stereotypes.
