✨Chinatown Arts Festival: Night at the Opera — TONIGHT!! Sat Oct 22, 6-8PM at Forsyth Plaza!✨ So excited to see all of you dressed up to the nines for a special night of Min opera! The Eastern Fuzhou Opera Group will perform “Dream of the Red Chamber” and the Fujianese classic tale of “Gan Guobao” amongst specially commissioned artwork by Sarula Bao (@bao__haus). The magical community “red carpet” will be emceed by Poet & drag performer @theillustriouspearl. 🎨Details from the opera backdrop by Sarula Bao. Sarula is a Chinese American illustrator and graphic novelist based in Brooklyn. She graduated from RISD’s illustration department in 2016 and has since a graphic novel, Lissa: A Story about Medical Promise, Friendship, and Revolution and currently works as a comics instructor and freelance illustrator.
