This one is deeply meaningful to me. About a month ago I was at a brewery when I saw my first doctor that truly helped me with my depression, anxiety, and suicidal issues when I first moved to Colorado at 18 in 2004. I went over to say hi and talked to him for a bit and within a couple minutes I was crying as I told him how much he changed my life when he got me on the right path with addressing some of my mental health issues I was dealing with in my adolescence. When I moved back to Colorado after I broke my back at 20 years old, he helped me again with that ordeal and my depression through most of my college career. I told him to pick out a metal print that he liked and I would get it custom made for him as he had such a tremendous impact on my life and me still being on this earth as well. I also signed a dedicated book thanking him for changing my life for the better. My nature photography and my business all stems from the deep dark days of my past and being able to use them now as a light and extension of myself to touch other people’s lives means so much more than I can ever put into words. Tell the people you love and cherish how much they mean to you and the impact that they have had on your life. One day you may not get that opportunity. I’m so glad I got mine with the first doctor that truly changed my life and now my artwork will be hanging on his wall which in a way he helped to create in the first place.
