Did you know that the Ferruginous Hawk is the largest of our soaring Buteo hawks? 😲 Head to the west in the open country to find these regal birds soaring with their broad wings held in a shallow ‘V’ shape. Though some of the ones that breed in the southern part of their range may stay there year-round, others will take on short to medium-distance migratory journeys following the grasslands south.
