The psychological horror in Kong Su-chang's directorial debut feature R-POINT (2004) is extremely palpable.
This wartime horror film is set during the Vietnam War and explores the tense and haunting events that occur when a dispatch unit is sent to investigate the disappearance of an entire military squad. It was voted as one of the best Korean horror films of the period, along with Kim Jee-woon’s A TALE OF TWO SISTERS (2003).
R-POINT is screening on Saturday, October 8 at 3pm, as part of our Monstrous: The Dark Side of New Korean Cinema film series.
