Today Anything’s Possible drops on @PrimeVideo for the world to see, and quite honestly, I’m feeling overwhelmed, joyous and super excited! At the same time, I’m feeling pretty nervous. Thinking about my role in this film takes me back to growing up in Missouri. Kelsa is the girl I wanted to see and be in high school. When I tapped into her, I tapped into parts of myself that weren’t given the space to be seen and celebrated. Like any teen, Kelsa is learning to use her voice and discovering her own power. What makes her extraordinary is not the fact that she’s trans, but she isn’t afraid to follow her heart. This is something youths and adults, cis people and trans people can learn from. I hope everyone walks away from this film with a better understanding of love. Anything’s Possible is more than your average rom-com. It’s a lesson in what it looks like to embody love for self, for another and for everyone else around you. Trans people’s existence is a gift that encourages the rest of the world to question everything they know. Our expressions of our genders and our spirits are as much a challenge to the status quo as they are a testament to what is possible when human beings tap into the power of self-determination. Kelsa may not always know how she’s going to get what she wants, but she knows she’s going to get it because she leads with love. As trans people continue to fight for our autonomy and our liberation, Anything’s Possible is just a glimpse at how this high schooler is able to shift the hearts and minds of her community. She is proof that love is our birthright. Love is the message. Thank you to @theebillyporter for seeing us and uplifting us. Making this piece of art with you has been such a gift 🦋💖 📸 @andrei_schwartz
