In 1997, I was driving home on Highway 515 after teaching a drawing class at the College of Southern Nevada in Henderson, near Las Vegas. When I glanced toward McCarran Airport I saw something unaccountable hovering over it. To me, it looked like an immense triangular white paper airplane with sharp corners. It was completely motionless, and I could tell it was huge as it had the same haze (aerial perspective) around it as the nearby mountains. Airplanes landing near the object appeared the size of flies. My brain had no compartment for what I had seen. I didn’t think anything more of it, as so many peculiar things happen in Las Vegas all the time. The thought of it completely left my mind until later that day, when I tuned in to a local talk-show and heard people calling in about a UFO over the airport. One guy had called airport security and was told, “There is nothing there.” I felt as if that memory had been temporarily erased. #ufo #mccarranairport #lasvegas #ceasarspalace #contemporarypainting #contemporaryart #acryliconcanvas #love McCarran Acrylic and mixed media on canvas 72 x 108 in.
