If we’ve crossed paths in the past several months, you know that I’ve been reporting this Glenn Close profile since April, when I went to Bozeman, Montana, to meet the actress where she lives — and to eat at greasy spoons, shop for hydraulic log splitters, chat with members of her family and community and, on a hike, drink straight from a creek in the hope of contracting giardia (not really, but kind of). I’ve since watched nearly every one of Close’s films; sat with her in the audience while she experienced her first ever production of “Sunset Boulevard” as a spectator; spent hours in person and through endless text exchanges talking about all kinds of things, both immeasurable and small; and spoke to (and gossiped with) some of her closest collaborators and friends including Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Lithgow, Warren Buffett, Kim Kardashian, Lee Daniels, Sarah Paulson, Michael Douglas, Lonny Price and Rian Johnson.
