First time I ever won an Emmy while standing in a hurricane and am SO happy for our sublime team of good humans who helped make this special. Repost from @julianquinones • No power or reliable cell service the last few days, but in the midst of our hurricane coverage out here for Ian - and sheltering between a couple of sliding doors in a dark hotel lobby - @billweircnn and I found out we WON AN EMMY for our 2021 special report, Eating Planet Earth: The Future of Your Food. Wish we could have celebrated in New York with our amazing team led by @elise_zeiger, and our day one producer on everything we do @eveliocontreras - but the eye of a hurricane is a great backup location to crack a few 🍻 Lucky to be given such great opportunities to work on such important stories by Executive Producer @jimmurphy46, and with our incredibly talented editors @aldisanti, @megpearlstein and Kent Healy, and our amazing AP’s @jaimeerindy @ryrybagoose. Special thanks to @wickedgm and @badassvegan We profiled incredible folks doing such inspiring work, I feel lucky to bear witness to real changemakers focusing on some of the biggest challenges of our time - the trophy (that I’ll probably have to baby-proof 😬) is icing on the cake! Congrats team!
