What are your go-to "starting points" for a patch? . If you've ever created a patch from scratch you know that even a simple idea can become increasingly complex the more cables you add! But having a starting point can be a great way to tether your patch to a central idea and focus its expansion. . Case in point: this patch started with @walkerfarrell 's "Ring Mod" example from the Strega manual, using the 0-Coast as the modulator half and Strega as the carrier/ring modulator. From there, pitch modulation was created using the 0-Coast's Stepped Random CV out and waveshaping on both the 0-Coast and Strega were utilized with moduation of the Balance (0-Coast) and Tones (Strega) parameters. Finally, Strega's Result parameter was voltage controlled, bringing its unique echoverb circuit in and out of the sound like waves on the shore. . Then, on the DAW side, two @arturia_official plugins were added (MELLO-FI tape emulator and JUN-6 chorus) to lend some additional texture and movement to the sound. . What started as a recreation of a patch from the Strega manual evolved into something larger and more dynamic but retained that ring mod character as a central concept. How important are "starting points" to your patches? Do you use actual patches as starting points? Sounds? Moods?
