Terribly exciting studio visit with Aida Tomescu this morning. Aida continues to astonish with her commitment and energy, pushing herself and her work to new levels. There is an increasing lightness of spirit in these new works, an untethered poetry that builds upon the grand triptych acquired last year by the National Gallery of Australia. Colour has structural obligations within these composition whilst there continues to open areas that reveal complex transitions that underpin the relationships of forms. There will be an exhibition at our Soudan Lane space later this year as well as new work for Sydney Contemporary.
