360 cameras are the future and today @insta360 just released its newest iteration, the ‘X3’ which I’ve had a few days to test out! [EDIT: trying to find out why the audio has been removed from this reel.] While I’m not a tech connoisseur, I am always looking for a cool perspective and new way to tell a story. It’s been that way for over 2 decades and I’ve used everything from hi8 camcorders up-through the entire line up of Gopros but when I purchased my first 360 camera two years back my entire perspective about how I could document and story tell exploded and it’s been an integral contributor to our content and our success. @insta360 has taken the best selling action Cam on the market and made it better; What’s not to love? I’m not going to bore you and dwell on the details because there will be many professionally done reviews and comparisons on YouTube in the coming days but I did want to leave my first impressions below. •Stoked that they kept the same form that makes it slender and compact compared to other 360 cameras. •Love the huge touch screen, navigating the myriad of video and photo options is a synch, as is framing up the shot when using single lens action modes. Better audio. Audio is dependent on a lot of external factors but in my limited tests so far, the audio quality definitely outperformed my previous X2 which is a huge bonus in our type of content! The new “me mode” is brilliant. It records you at an incredibly stabilized 60 fps while deleting the selfie stick and requires NO REFRAMING.
