Danish Creamery European Style Butter is made with fresh cream from family farms and boasts an unusually high butterfat content of 85%, so it makes a very dreamy brown butter. This gets combined with homemade mashed sweet potato, maple syrup, chopped sage, and—for a little unconventional twist on fall baking that still gives all those cozy autumnal feels—Chinese five spice, because the blend feels adjacent to the ubiquitous pumpkin spice but reminds me more of home. The resulting batter bakes up into wonderfully *moist* but not-too-sweet treats that really have more of a cake texture than a muffin one, and are a touch savory-leaning from the sage and five spice.⁣ ⁣ As for the topping, you know I couldn’t resist doing something with a bit of saltiness. Using more brown butter, plus an extra pinch of salt and finely chopped peanuts, I made an addictive streusel topping that is a nice balance in both texture and flavor to the decadent cake-like muffins.
