“Old Stone Christmas” Throwback to my first time ever up at the Old Stone Church in December 2017. On this windy frigid morning in West Boylston, MA I arrived around sunrise and waited to see what the conditions would bring to help capture this scene. Throughout the year there is a huge American flag on the side of the church, as seen in my post from there in October, but in December they hang a large Christmas wreath instead for the holiday season. There had just been a storm the night before so fresh snow covered the roof of the church, surrounding trees and even the top of the giant wreath. I couldn’t have asked for any better conditions to make this the perfect winter scene, except maybe less wind and calmer water in front of the church. The final result was worth the frozen fingers and is still one of my favorite New England holiday images that I’ve captured.
