🌊 MAHARLIKA: 2nd Wave 🌊 @maharlikaukartists “‘MAHARLIKA’: an ancient Filipino term, meaning ‘Nobleman / Freedman’, symbolising the power and independence of the Filipino people” This coming Monday I’ll go into filming a short dance film I’ve made in collaboration with immersive theatre practitioner Chi Sandford @who.is.chichi and screenwriter/filmmaker @malindifilm (you can see short snippets of our choreography in the reel). This film will represent two weeks of creative workshopping and R&D with five other UK-based filipino artists, sharing our varied practices and exploring paired collaboration under the supervision of an all-filipino creative production & support team. The films will all be premiered on Tuesday 20th September at @richmixlondon 7pm along with a Q&A (link in bio). I *cannot* express how life-affirming this experience has been for me as an individual, and game-changing for me professionally.
