UPDATE!!! I’m reposting bc the original was wrongly reported and deleted! My surgery is TOMORROW MORNING! I’ve been able to raise about half of my goal of $1800! Please keep sharing and sending words of encouragement as I spend my last day preparing for surgery :) Hi y’all! PLEASE READ This is something I’ve dreamt about for many many years. I have had a hard relationship with my body and particularly my chest ever since going through puberty. It has been my biggest obstacle in feeling seen and perceived the way I would like to while navigating the world as a trans non-binary individual. I can’t wait to get this off my chest 😅 I’m really looking forward to having a chest that I feel more connected to and can embrace for the first time, a chest that doesn’t feel disjointed from my mind. I’m very grateful and lucky that the procedure itself is going to be covered by insurance, but I need to be able to pay for the cost of living while I am recovering and unable to work for the 6 weeks following surgery. My community has come through for me so many times in the past for which I am eternally grateful. I really wish I could do this all on my own but I need to know when to ask for help. I deserve to be able to give my full attention to healing and not stress over anything during that process.
