I was looking through a family members wedding photos the other day and it made me remember how important wedding photography truly is. I felt so much joy being able to feel like I was a part of such a special day for a loved one even though I wasn’t born yet on their wedding day. I loved seeing all of these past versions of family members that I hardly recognized, photos I never knew existed of family members that have passed on, candid moments that probably seemed unimportant to the photographer at the time, but were incredibly important to me as I flipped through the wedding album. My goal as your wedding photographer is to capture your wedding day not only in a way that is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing... but also in a way that helps you truly remember your day. I want you to see the teary reactions of your family members as you say your vows at the altar. I want you to see grandma not being able to put her phone away because she is taking photos of everything in sight. I want you to see the little glances shared between you and your new spouse, the way your mom looks at you as you perfect your wedding day look, the moments between your guests that you never saw on your wedding day but that I found beautiful and significant. A wedding gallery isn’t supposed to be just a whole bunch of posed photos or beautiful portraits of you and your new spouse (though those photos are important too). It is supposed to tell the story of your day... so that you can look back on it and remember every moment, and even moments you may have missed. I hope I can give you a gallery that your future family members and children can look at with joy.
