A glimpse at the curatorial references that inspired our Modern Antiquities capsule—a collection of pieces created in close conversation with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Beginning with a scarab found buried in the Temple of Hatshepsut (ca. 2000 B.C.), we were drawn to a specific hieroglyphic Uraeus knot etching — historically symbolized the powerful protection of the Sun god. With this as our framework, we iterated on ways to consider these meaningful talismans through a modern lens, interpreting details with The Met’s guidance and crafting in recycled 14k gold, sterling silver, Japanese Akoya pearls and silk cording. #jhannah #jhannahjewelry #metropolitanmuseumofart
