This sound is so true Never in a million years did I think my journey would lead me here. Coming up on almost 4 years of continual trial and error, frustration, patience and acceptance I can now say I fully embrace the texture upon my head. So how did I get here ? •I learned my hair type and realized how different it needed to be treated •I stopped using a flat iron completely for over 5 years •I learned which ingredients my hair responds best to , and ones to avoid •I learned how to handle my tangles gently and delicately to prevent breakage •I stopped using a cotton towel to dry my hair •I learned that my personal preference is volume , so while I am a wavy curly - I prefer to sacrifice big bouncy curl clumps for smaller and fuller waves •I started using bond building products after bleaching •I cut off a lot of the damage and go for regular trims to avoid split ends •I started drinking more water •I clarify and/or use shampoo every wash day •I use a variety of brushes and that’s okay •I started embracing frizz •I began to sleep protect my curls at night •I stopped aiming for perfection and letting the expectations consume me •I stopped trying to force my hair into something it’s not Everyone’s journey will look a little different ... the key is to do what makes YOU happy . . . . . . #curls #naturallycurly #finehair #finecurls #curlyhair #howtohair #healthyhair #curltips #curlyhairproblems #curlgoals #reels #frizzyhair #volume #blonde #hairhacks #definition #embracethejourney #wavyhair #motivationmonday #thenandnow #myjourney
