Today we investigate how a room can be visually interesting without adding pops of color 🕵️♀️
Here’s what we’ve got so far:
1) Texture, texture texture - you’ll find it in everything from the tufting of the coffee table to the blankets draped over the chairs. Accessorize with pieces made from materials like rattan and terracotta.
2) Mix materials - use wood, different upholstery fabrics, cozy blankets, brass, found wood, baskets, rugs and natural materials (like the bamboo on my blanket ladder). Incorporate vintage decor for a beautiful mix of new and old.
3) Florals! I have florals everywhere - dried and faux work for me, but fresh flowers breathe life into any space. When in doubt, add greenery 🌿
4) Layers! Use multiple pillows, blankets and layer your accessories, using different heights and shapes (like the arch on the ladder). This helps create depth and visual interest. Doing this will also make any space feel cozier.
5) Area rug - tie it all together and ground the space with a beautiful area rug. This one is even washable and really reasonably priced!
6) It’s all about the details - details like the spindle legs on my side tables and the tufting on the coffee table add another layer of visual interest.
🕵️♀️ Comment below if you’ve cracked the case on how to create a beautiful, neutral room.
