Happy 98th birthday William Greason! A historic member of the Montford Point Marines, he has participated in remarkable moments throughout American history: World War Two, the battle Iwo Jima, baseballs “negro leagues” (as Willie Mays’ roommate), dangerous social waters of Birmingham, Alabama in the 1960s to name but a few. For the past 51 years, he has served as pastor to a beautiful congregation at Bethel Baptist Church. He is preaching this Sunday after fully recovering from a bout of COVID. His education and inspiration to our civilian and veteran community has been a true gift. Seeing his story elevated this year nationally (his first official Topps baseball card! A piece in @timeforkids!) has been incredibly special.
