Last year, #1 on my 2023 music wrap was “Don’t You Give Up on Me” by Brandon Lake. The reason? I was desperately trying to convince myself that despite my best efforts, God wasn’t going to let my most deeply desired dream to wither and die. Not gonna lie, I was doubtful. This year, my #1 was still “Don’t You Give Up on Me.” Yet this time, it carries a different tune, one of hope and confidence in what God can do with a surrendered heart. Has it been easy? No. Has it been what I expected? No. Would I change anything about it? HECK No! I’ve learned far more in a single chapter about life, love, and service than any other time. To name a few, here are my favorites: -Worthiness is foundational, predetermined as “immeasurable” from your first to last breath. I am free to “fail fast” and explore limits without fear of defeat. 2 Corinthians 12:9! -Blessings are boundless when your perspective is gratitude. 2 Corinthians 9:8! -Life is not a race for success. It is a walk of surrender, slow and steady with the focus of knowing Jesus and loving like him. Matthew 6:33! -Be where your feet ARE! In just the right time, the Lord will make it happen. Isaiah 60:22!
