It may be that your doctor doesn’t think you need a colonoscopy (for various reasons), but I think there are a few key things you can see to make your case. One being that you believe there is a history of cancer, possibly colon, in your family. Another is that you’ve had a little blood in your stool. Another is that your bowel movement has been feeling “off” like you’re never quite satisfied afterward. Know that in all medical situations you need to advocate for yourself. “They” often just act when the problems become urgent. Pay attention to your body and your instincts.
