Lucky Girl has made a miraculous recovery... but just as we thought that we could take a breath another two rhino orphans arrived! Rhino poaching in KZN is increasing rapidly with around 133 rhinos being poached up to the end of June 2022. This has resulted in four new rhino orphans arriving at our facility which is the most arrivals that we have ever experienced in a single year! Things have been super busy over the last few months but we are happy to report that all of the new orphans are now doing well. Thank you to @campussafetyproducts for their generous support and naming three of the new arrivals. Lucky Girl has been given the name Bindi meaning Brave, an incredibly fitting name for such a resilient girl who’s already had to fight so hard in her short life. The 7 month old male nicknamed ‘Zulu Boy’ has been given the name Vikela meaning Protector, hopefully an omen for him and those around him. And the 2 month old female nicknamed ‘Baby Girl’ has been named Mnene meaning Gentle, which couldn’t be more suited to this sweet little girl.
