I had another full circle moment at the @greek_theatre in LA last week. In 1997, right before I graduated from @emersoncollege, I had an internship at this iconic venue in the promotions department. I worked for @wendecrowley, who was also an @emersonalumni. I was offered a job right after I got back from my graduation ceremony in #Boston. As much as I had loved this space & LA, my desire to work on the road was greater (and there was no way I could live here making minimum wage!). I graciously declined the offer. Sometimes I wonder what my life would have looked like if I would have taken that job. Who were the people I would have met? Where would my career have led me? Would I have been happier? My travels have led me back to the Greek before, but this particular trip was a staunch reminder that the things that DON’T work out, like that job I didn’t take (or the job I was let go from) are just as important as the ones that DO happen. Not to say I always believe this - sometimes it’s hard to see forest through the trees. And my ego & my fragility try to convince me of a grander life if I would have made different choices or if things would have worked out differently. But after watching @brandicarlile sell out two sold out nights at the Greek, making a first time visit to the @sbbowl, meeting another #Emerson alumni #HenryWinkler, spending quality time with the band, crew, BC team players, support acts & special guests, and friends sprinkled in the audience, I think the path has led me to a pretty sweet place so far.
