My next gig on the EU 2022 tour was at the legendary Tresor There are so many great venues in Berlin, and over time some of them become more popular or cultural, but Tresor, no matter what, has always remained iconic. In its 31 years of existence, the club has had its ups and downs, changes in sound systems and locations, curators and, of course, audiences, but one thing that has never changed about this place is its strong connection to originality and Detroit craft. It has never been sold to any major corporation, and founders, such as Regina Baer and Dimitri Hegemann, have stick to the principle of "strictly future music with some experimentation" from the beginning until today. It's the only place in Berlin where I feel like a true messenger!! The walls at Tresor have an extraordinary power. It is here that I feel how people suffered and how music rescued them from dark thoughts. I always draw a parallel between people sweating in dance and those holding back tears of agony. The institution is celebrating its 31st anniversary this summer with a fantastic lineup of artists, musicians and DJs. When I walked into the establishment at 6 a.m. Saturday morning, it was opening night. Perfect rainy weather for a party! It was very crowded and very smoky, 🇩🇪 is the only place on earth where you can still smoke on the dance floors (I think!? I quit smoking 10 years ago, I always confused "cigi smoke" with smoke machines). “Germans do not believe in ACs, they also hate fans: Air must be hot and stationary” The biggest surprise for me was my liaison artist. Tristan, who I met 8 years ago, he was 18 years old, he had traveled all over the world and was able to attend to a few my gigs before in Spain to Singapore, Mexico City to Amsterdam with his wonderful girlfriend Katharina, I still remember us trying to figure out how to get into clubs underage. Tristan showed me Tresor like no one before, every corner, every room, it helped me to feel the venue on another level. What made my heart melt was the wall of old posters: all my favorite DJs were there!
