How do you prepare your tresses for protective styles? If you’re anything like me you’re all about a protective style, any time of year not just summer, but not the pre-protective style prep. I, unofficially, often times refer to myself as the laziest natural and putting these hands in this hair is rarely at the top of my list BUT, I will say my #Flawlessbygu product arsenal definitely helps. I cleaned my hair with the Hydrating Detangling Shampoo to remove buildup and clean my scalp. I followed it with the Hydrating Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner to get an additional cleanse + moisture. I mentioned, I don’t like to do my hair, right? Since I know this about myself I knew I needed extra love before putting my hair into a protective style, which means, deep conditioning. I used the 5 Butter Miracle Masque + the Exotic Oil treatment before putting on my @afrosteamcaps. The masque formula is thick and luscious from the top notch ingredient list which is exactly what my strands desire. My steam cap allows the ingredients to really penetrate and work their magic giving me softer more manageable hair. Next, it’s time to blow dry and I always have to get my mind right for this step. I used the Shine Enhancing Heat Protection Spray in combination with the Smoothing Blow Dry Cream to, well, protect my hair from the blow dryer heat. The Spray is lightweight which I appreciate and you don’t need gobs of the Cream to blow dry. I repeat, a little Blow Dry Cream truly goes a long way! You still with me? And then, hello braids!
