BY THE BOOK by Jasmine Guillory (@disneybooks #gifted) • I am very behind on reviews, so let's talk about this cute romance that I read back in May! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started and finished this book in one day, so clearly I enjoyed it! This is a book for book lovers. Our main character, Izzy, describes what books mean to her a few times throughout the book and it was just so relatable. I’m a sucker for books set in the publishing world, so I definitely enjoyed that aspect of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I thought Izzy was such a great character and I loved her journey throughout the story. Although Beau wasn’t my favorite male lead that Guillory has written, I did like Izzy and Beau together. As you’d expect with one of Guillory’s books, there’s lots of yummy food talk. And the California setting made me want to take a trip back to my home state asap ☀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In terms of spice levels, this was definitely more PG than her other books, more on the sweet side. I thought it worked as a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I’m still not over how adorable this cover is.
