All The World’s A Stage and anyone who wants to can perform on it. At least that’s what the 80+ cast members in The Public Theater’s production of “As You Like It” will tell you. You have one more week to see this magical musical adaptation that will delight you and fill your heart with joy. The cast includes a wonderful mixture of professional actors and community performers from age 7-80. It was spellbinding to see an entire village of performers bring this tale of love and hyjinx to life. This is not your grandparents Shakespeare. Or your parents for that matter. It is re-imagined with brilliant and complicated songs by Shaina Taub, directed with so much heart and soul by Laurie Woollery and brilliantly choreographed by Billy Griffin. The final number brought me to tears. Every single person on that stage was dancing their hearts out. The production is simply beautiful to behold and seeing it under the stars in Central Park at the Delacorte Theater was truly magnificent.
