💬Here’s why we RALLY: 1️⃣ Comunidad- Joining together creates a signal to establishments that PEOPLE have the POWER💪🏽 It also allows for folks who are usually marginalized and underrepresented to feel heard and seen! It created a sense of belonging and affirmation that: “thousands of people agree and think the way I do”🧡 2️⃣ Conversation- When masses of people gather, it creates a conversation within the positions of power. Why have people gathered? Why do they feel so strongly? Who is “right”? 👏🏽 (we are)👀 3️⃣ Victory- Sometimes we WIN! If there are enough protesters, policy CAN change. Throughout history there have been thousands of protests where government has shifted their policies due to the incredible outcry from the people. And sometimes we win in ways we didn’t plan for🙌🏽 Change takes time and the power of the people continues to grow stronger and more demanding for their human rights.
