Today The King was in Aberdeen to hear about how the city is providing a place of refuge for families in need. @Aberdeen_CC has worked with the UK and Scottish Governments, as well as partner organisations, to provide accommodation and critical services such as health and education for more than 1,000 people from countries in need. His Majesty met the team involved in delivering the Council’s resettlement programmes, as well as some of the supported families from Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine, who have settled in the Scottish city. Inna Skvortsova arrived in Aberdeen earlier this year as part of the Ukrainian resettlement programme, and now has a full time role at the council supporting other people who are resettling from the country.
