Paolo Gonzato favors drifts and shipwrecks. He loves whatever’s left and is able to express its inviolable presence. The Harlequin costume inspired him for a number of variations on the Out of Stock theme. He restlessly pierced thousands of pieces of paper with feverish cigarettes. He collected the ashes and mixed them with dust, petals, powder and mummified bugs. There’s something deeply melancholic, almost funereal about him: he’s enchanted by transformations, even when it comes to smashed ceramics. The concept of availability of matter is dear to him. I picture him as an old, ancient man, but always affable. Here he is, posing in the ground floor bistrot, wearing a shirt designed by my friend @coelocanthe , decorated with my pets Inferno and Roberto. From the bistro’s innovative zero-km menu, he chooses chickpea hummus with fermented vegetables, with glasses of Rispetto by Ricci. Il costume di Arlecchino l’ha ispirato per una moltitudine di variazioni sul tema del ciclo Out of Stock. Senza sosta ha perforato un’infinità di foglietti con febbricitanti sigarette, di cui ha raccolto la cenere per mischiarla a polvere, petali, cipria e insetti mummificati. C'è in lui qualcosa di profondamente melanconico, quasi funereo, lo affascinano i processi di trasformazione che non risparmiano neppure ceramiche fracassate. Il concetto di disponibilità della materia gli è pertinente. Lo immagino già vecchio, antico, e sempre conviviale. Indossa una camicia disegnata da @coelocanthe con i miei animali di compagnia Inferno e Roberto e posa nel bistrot dal menu innovativo, legato ad aziende agricole del territorio - di cui predilige l’hummus con le verdure fermentate, accompagnato da calici di Rispetto di Ricci.
